It's New, Improved, Meta and Fresher!

Downtown at Michael Bruder's duplex in the Village, Meta Markets and Fresher had a small soiree for friends, investors and press. Michael is the primary investor in Fresher.com, a creator of topic specific search engines. They introduced me to Nina Davis of MetaMarkets.com, who explained this first interactive mutual fund that beat the S&P 500 in the first month. This six-month-old company grew from $3.1 million in the fund to $7 million with no advertising. There is a new economy fund and visitors to the site provide the long-term visionary ideas. Here you can also chat with experts like thinktanker Peter Sprague, Nicholas Negroponte and David Isenberg, who are currently debating the definition of a "stupid network." Among the guests were Fresher's Nancy Jaffe, Chris McCarthy and Marjorie Ingall of Oxygen.com.
