Internet World: Is it a magazine or is it a website?
Contrary to popular musings, msmoney.com isn't associated with Ms. nor Money magazine. It is, however, the result of Tiffany Bass Bukow's vision for a website that fulfills women's financial needs with related content and community aspects. The preview website launch party at the Marriott Marquis was sponsored by looksmart.com, IDG Books and Van Kampen Funds. Doubleclick also had a table there. Among some of the guests who enjoyed scrumptious finger foods and the quiet, elegant reception were Michelle Crecca, VP marketing, Sallyann Colonna, chief marketing officer and Robyne Shirley, e-commerce marketing manager for Citibank's The Student Loan Corporation. Tomas Kellner, a reporter at Forbes, was talking with Tiffany when I was introduced to her by her mother and advisor. Having had her own consulting company and garnering experience Tiffany got 2.5 million in angel funds to help get the company off the ground and will be going after 20 million soon. Phil Rosenbaum of CNNfn and I snacked on some fine hors d'oeuvres and chatted about the various programs at CNN and some friends we had in common -- NY1's Liz Gerst and Metro Channel's Chip Lewis! On my way out I chatted with Howard Seibel of DirectAdvice.com, who just got funded by Softbank.
