Bertelsmann is taking a 50.1% stake in DealPilot.com, formerly known as Acses, a leading comparison shopping service. The prior capitalization of DealPilot has been through seed investments of i-Hatch Ventures and Bertelsmann Ventures with Chip Austin acting as CEO during this phase. He is now am moving to an advisory board position but is continuing to help them build the US business. Elisabeth Schick will be the new CEO and their offices will be in Europe and NYC. Matthias Epp will be the new VP, Marketing in NYC, where he lives and will be expanding NYC office. The new investment funds will be used to expand customer base and product features, with a new service already slated to launch in early November.
