A Short, but meaningful Fest

Attempting, and completing, the challenge of showing 25 new short films a month, Broome Street Media's ShortFest held a screening party Thursday, June 1, at Obeca Li. Dumplings were being passed and Brooklyn Lager's were being served as the independent film afficionados sat to watch some shorts before mingling. Heidi Erikson, a graphic designer at St. Martins press, Dru Lawrence, a production manager at VH1, and Nancy Rawlinson, an online editor for Madison magazine, were there enjoying the films. Kate Purcell of Bass & Howes, a consultancy for non- profits, and Paul Rudd of Adaptive Analytics were also checking out the scene. Dan Holton-Roth of Broome Street Media introduced me to Michael Genovese, dir. of bizdev for the company, and told me that the contributors this month include Hillman Curtis (rock star cum flash designer) and UndergroundFilm.com.
