Lisa Novitt of the Downtown Alliance sent in this recap of their Bits,Bytes and Bar on Monday, July 24. Held at the Vaults of Vine, downtown LawFirm, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy was the gracious sponsor of thisparty. Ignoring the bad weather and the fact that it was a Monday night, over 400 people came to partake in the festivities. There were two bars, cutesy finger foods passed around on trays plus a pasta station, whichserved ziti, tortellini and ravioli.
Amongst the upbeat crowd were downtown high-techies such as Justin Modelof VentureSurf (who recently opened their NYC office on 26 Broadway),Lloyd Fremed, from PSINET, Michael Kawochka (TheGlobe.com) andnon-downtown high-tech representatives like Bill Squitieri (Crain's), AdamCastro (eWomp) and a big group from Doremus Advertising. Other regularsmaking an appearance were Bernardo Joselevich, Sherry Riesner (NYNMA) andElizabeth Geary-Archer (Out of the Box Marketing). Christine Schoregge, from the NYC Economic Development Corporation (and who never misses aBits, Bytes & Bar) told me that this space felt "very Tribeca-ish."
