Writers Chastised On No Sex Ed
Members of the WWWAC Writers SIG were chastised for the low turnout at the Wednesday February 3rd meeting on "Go Ask Alice," a sex education and health information site that was developed by Columbia University. The non-profit entity developed a site to address a pressing need of its immediate community. It has, in the process, thanks to the reach of the Web, drawn an international audience. The project has been so successful it has led to a book as well. Unfortunately not many folks got to learn about how health professionals addressed the issue of setting up an effective Web site that would grab the attention of the students it wanted to reach and to hear about the sort of editorial judgments they must make every day.
