A Room with a Point of View

Actually there were several, as is wont to happen when you gather several journalists, writers and other literary sorts. Laurel Touby gathers them daily, for her online recruiting site HireMinds and monthly for her MediaBistro socials. This night's social was held at The Loft at Quilty's. There was proscuitto and brie, and olives and complementary Iceberg vodka samplings. These soirees are for media only, and they've got a significant following. I ended up meeting many people from and related to Washington, D.C. The first eloquent chap I saw was Timothy Maloy, editor of Internet Newsroom, who introduced me to Ted Gachot, senior editor of Food Arts. DC-based Sacha Cohen was looking smashing in her leopard top and matching gold necklace and earrings. I chatted for a bit with Betsy Pisik, The Washington Times U.N. correspondent.
