Nino's Celebrates

Rescue efforts at Ground Zero are in full-efficiency mode now. Excavation is nearly complete and the little restaurant that became famous for feeding all the rescue workers, Ninos, has closed its doors. But Ninos didn't go away entirely. The Mom and Pop Italian restaurant served the volunteers, supporters and heros on Wednesday, April 17th at the trendy Tribeca Obeca Li restaurant.

Delicious samplings or food from restaurants like Roy's, Beacon, Tavern on the Green and Pastryarts.com kept guests satiated with salmon, shrimp, chicken and desserts. Ston and Windsor Vineyards offered vodka drinks. Downstairs guests in American-flag bandanas and t-shirts danced to a live band and kept cool with more refreshing beverages. Others bought silent auction tickets to win any number of great gifts.

The evening celebrated the accomplishments of those who served and honored our heroes All proceeds were used to pay the Fund's outstanding bills and to maintain current operations.
