Fourth Annual One Show Interactive Awards

The walls were covered with slick posters, and the gallery space at the Puck Building was filled with creative types on Monday, May 7th. Centered on the northern wall was a video display of other nominated works. The cocktail reception drew a significant following of typical attendees and web-based advertisers. Iconocast's Michael Tchong even flew in from San Francisco to catch the wave of what was going on. We caught up on the various "scenes" and then parted ways to network. I chatted with HotDeals.com President Joel Barnehama and MilliganWood.com's Ray Wood. Ogilvy Interactive's Audrey Fleisher introduced me to one of her colleagues, Director of Information Architecture & Content Strategy Gina Coniglio and Sam & Lori Partners' Samantha Glatzer and Lori Habas. Nearby was Portfolios.com's Jeff Newelt, who introduced me to some of his friends. Advertising Age's Interactive Editor Catharine Taylor introduced me to some of her former collegues - Organic VP and Marketing Solutions Chief Officer Tom Kiernan, Group Creative Director Stephen Tortorici, Hayler Foster, Kathleen Kiernan and Art Williams. Hors d'ouvres of beef and empanadas kept some guests at bay, while others checked out the ham and turkey carving boards. Drinks were flowing, and the ceremony delivered all the excitement it promised. You can find out about all the winners, but the Best of Show went to the Whassup? Integrated Branding Campaign by Chicago-based Tribal DDB.
