Publisher's Note:

* Greetings Cyber Scene readers! First I would like to say "Happy International Women's Day!"

Indulge me, if you will, on some historical perspectives The Cyber Scene and I personally have to share from this day.

My ìNotable Womenî series:
http://www.thecyberscene.com/cgi-bin/show.cgi?city=newyork&year=1999&issue=0-3-2-6

In honor of Women's History Month, I thought I'd share some names of (famous and not-so-famous) women who have been influencers in my life and/or impressed me as I continue on my journey. My Mom, My Sister, Stacey, Kimberly, Kim, Ainsley, My Grandmothers, Tery Spataro, Linda Stone, Emily Davidow, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Pina Bausch, St. Joan, Barbara, Judith, Ruth, Josephine Baker, Amelia Earhart, Coco Chanel, Charlotte Perkins, Calamity Jane, Grace Hopper, Adrienne Rich, Nellie Bly, Harriet Tubman, Mary Harriman, Madame Dumont (Moustache), Aphra Behn, Rita Mae Brown, Dr. Mary Walker, Gertrude Stein, Mary Wollstonecraft, Alice Paul ...Maura Johnston, Heather Champ, Aliza Sherman, Donna Kidwell, Drue Miller, Chickclick.com, Carey Earle

And let me add to the list: Victoria Hamilton, Esther Dyson, Harriet Rubin, Nancy Evans, Candice Carpenter, Alice OíRourke, Ellen Auwarter, Heather Bain, Hilka Klinkenberg, Beth Reifers, Elisabeth DeMarse, Adele Morrisette, Alicia Shearer, Princess Diana, Melissa Dodd, Lisa Prescutti, my Cyber Scene writers (please note: this list is always in formation)

My first realization of this day was when I landed in Moscow, Russia for the first time on my own (March 8, 1991). I was greeted by an amazing woman, Irina Panchenko and her son, Yakov, and spent the summer in Moscow studying acting, living, enjoying lifeís precious moments, growing and working during the famous ìcoup.î International Womanís Day was a big celebration and nationally recognized in the (former) Soviet Union. Life was tough, but women were given wonderful opportunities in careers because everyone was equal as a ìcomrade.î Now, Russian woman, and women all around the world continue their struggle to be the smart, sexy, powerful, influential gender that they are. And men tooóthey are facing their own new struggles as this fragile world speeds towards evolutionary changes socially, culturally, scientifically, artistically, economically, politically and more!

Letís bless the women in our lives. And the men. Without each other we could not exist.

* Second, I would like to say that I continue rebuilding data files from bits and bytes saved here and there. Once again, if anyone emailed me anything since October 2001 that pertains to upcoming business, I beg of you to re-email me so I may live up to my reputation and follow up with you quickly!

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
