When founders leave a fledgling but growing organization it usually means Trouble. In this case, however, Communities.com, which owns The Palace.com and Onlive.com will probably survive just peachily despite the departure of co-founder Mark Jeffrey. Although Mark's not doing too shabbily either. He started off in Time Warner with Jim Baumgartner and developed ThePalace.com, the two-dimensional Web chat environment. Now, as VP of business development he's sneaking off to another corner to play with Communities.com director of business development Matthew Burgess. And they're not telling what they're up to! The word is that while it's very different from what they've been developing, of course it's a dot com project.
