GINGERBREAD MAN) is developing a one-hour pilot with DOONESBURY's
Garry Trudeau for ABC Television. Working with the title SILICON
VALLEY a.k.a. KILLER APP, it will be a night-time soap taking place
in the high-tech world of Silicon Valley. The project is being
developed with the Kushner-Locke production company, who has a deal
with Altman's SANDCASTLE 5 PRODUCTIONS.

the gold for their Star Trek CD-ROM series. At the 1997 NewMedia
Magazine Invision Awards ceremony held last night in Yerba Buena,
California, "Star Trek: Borg" won a Gold Invision Award
for Best Video, along with a Silver Award for Best Story/Script.

Bari Koral Band: We will be doing a live broadcast on New
Year's Eve from Walt Disney World with the Doobie Brothers, Kevin
Bacon and his band, and a host from Saturday Night Live. It's being
broadcast to 4.4 million people and they are airing 2 of our songs.
We regularly play at all the best downtown venues, we are currently
doing a tape with a producer who did one of Suzzane Vega's records,
and another producer who has worked with Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon,
Madonna and more. One of the band members of the BKB have performed
and recorded with Shawn Colvin, Jewel and others.

Bicycling Guides, respectively). After FOUR WEEKS of labor (?!) with

real-time games in real space -- Laser Tag meets Doom. Our students will be
building some samples in the next few months -- check out

Jon Kalish does a monthly column called "Jews In Cyberspace"
for Jewish Week Newspaper. He has reported on the new media scene for the Daily

Joining US Interactive's New York office are Trey Albers, Lance Hollander, Joyce
Pavlica and Neil Bar-or. In Malvern, PA, US Interactive has added Andrew McGrath,
Peter Schwenk, Michael Hancock, Kate Urzillo and Jeffrey Workman. Founded in
1992, USI has gained a national reputation for the creation and implementation
of digital marketing services for interactive brand management. Clients include:
American Express, IBM, AT&T, Comedy Central, Comcast Corporation, Microsoft and
Royal Caribbean International.

Lubel has just moved to Showtime from a long stint at
Chapman Advertising . . . Contrary to the rumors, Buoyant has not merged with Spiral Media. What did happen though,
was that Mitch
Golden, (director of technology), Brad Justus (executive vice president)
and Pall Walton
(chief of production) left Buoyant and joined Spiral Media. There
are also a number of Spiral Media employees who worked at Buoyant.
However, Buoyant still exists as an independent entity . . . After
several years at Citibank, Deb Schultz has made the move to independence with her
new company, DRS Solutions specializing in Internet marketing,
strategy, and development . . . Digital Pulp, agency of record to DoubleClickand BizTravel, has recently established an
advanced technology division and moved to larger offices with a
rooftop patio on 23rd street. Founder Steve Sacks is planning to hold weekly happy
hours for the New York digerati on the roof beginning in early May. Look
for Digital Pulp to make an announcement in the upcoming months.

Straight from the horse's mouth: David Schwartz writes of
his new position as director of new media at Middleberg & Associates Public Relations. He'll be handling PR, direct marketing and product branding and
positioning for new media startups. Plus on the side, he'll still be working on
content startups. Schwartz was formerly the first VP of marketing and a key
member of the launch team for Jupiter Communications. While at Jupiter he
developed some of the largest trade shows and conferences using direct mail and
telemarketing.
The dynamic Chris McCarthy has recently left Avalanche to join the talented Alec Pollack and Tery Spataro,
partners and creative directors, at Stir. They've all been busy lately with work on the
entire Olympus site, all of Showtime Online, which will be a fully
database-driven site, and the site for the movie "Father's Day" with Robin
Williams and Billy Crystal.
Ross von Burg has just been promoted Head of T1 Sales, at The Internet Channel to fill Brian Freeman's shoes. Brian is going to Adler Communications.
