Jack Kramer Joins CondeNet
CondeNet today has hired Jack Kramer as Midwest advertising manager. Jack is now responsible for the 13 states in the Midwest and its major cities, including Chicago, St. Louis and Minneapolis. Jack came over from NBC Internet, where he was Midwest manager, responsible for establishing the Midwest office in Chicago for NBC Internet. He has also worked for Emusic.com, previously known as Tunes.com, which included Rollingstone.com, Thesource.com and Downbeatjazz.com. Before working in online publishing, Jack held sales management positions at major magazine companies, including Wenner Media (Rolling Stone), Hearst (Esquire and Sports Afield) and Parade Magazine. He holds a BS in history and psychology from Georgetown University.

Former NYTimes SVP Joins ORB
ORB, Inc.has named Erich Linker as Senior Vice-President for Corporate Development. Erich comes to ORB with plenty of experience. He spent more than 20 years at the New York Times where he was Sr./VP Advertising for the New York Times Newspaper and Sr./VP Group Advertising and Marketing for the New York Times magazine division. He was most recently Executive Vice-President/Sales with Presspoint, a service he helped launch that distributed same-day editions of influential newspapers to business travelers globally. Erich also sits on the advisory board of Plum Holdings, LLP, an investment fund for early stage content enterprises. At ORB, he will be responsible for spearheading the development of large-scale corporate relationships.

McCullagh Joins Tradeout
TradeOut, a global Internet marketplace for business surplus, today announced the appointment of Phyllis McCullagh as Group Vice President of Computers. Phyllis joins TradeOut from Gateway, Inc., where she was Vice President of Strategic Accounts & Partners, managing and developing potential strategic opportunities in the Commercial Business Unit. During her tenure at Gateway, Phyllis also served as Vice President of Corporate Sales, and prior to that, Vice President of Partner Sales, where she was responsible for both the corporate field sales organization and Gateway's channel programs and partners. Previously, Phylis spent 10 years at Compaq Computer Corporation where she held various senior management positions. When she left the company in 1998, Phyllis was Vice President, Western Region. Zollie Embarks on New Challenges
After six exciting (and exhausting) years of helping to craft the vision, values and visibility of Siegelgale, Andrew Zolli has decided to leave the company to pursue new and greater challenges - in particular to complete a newly contracted book on design and brand experience. I'm very excited about this new project and may be contacting some of you to participate. Andrew says he's very proud of what Siegelgale ahs achieved, and he is leaving on excellent terms. The company continues to do well, although it is now pursuing a path different than the one he advocated, and so the parting is bittersweet. Still, Andrew says it was an amazing experience to witness the birth of an industry and to have facilitated the wholesale transformation of a company.

Razorfish Makes Appoints
Razorfish has named Bob Lord as executive vice president of North America and Clayton Hubner as executive vice president of Infrastructure. The appointments provide the company with two strong additions to its senior management team and underscore its focus in providing high-level client satisfaction. Bob Lord will spearhead the overall growth, profitability and development of Razorfish's North American region. He will oversee Razorfish's day-to-day operations in the Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices. Most recently, Bob was vice president of corporate alliances at Pretzel Logic Software, where he was responsible for building and managing the company's top tier relationships. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from Syracuse University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Clayton Hubner joins Razorfish with a global perspective drawn from a wide range of international experience. As the executive vice president of infrastructure, Clayton will oversee the development and maintenance of the company's global infrastructure for its 15 offices. That includes redefining business processes surrounding the deployment of all global applications in an effort to leverage Razorfish's global scale and resources to support the company's client-facing teams. Clayton's last post was as performance and business systems integration leader for Applied Power Inc. He holds a B.S. in Finance and an MBA from Brigham Young University as well as a master's degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering and a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of Michigan.

CondeNet Names Shepard Editor in Chief of Epicurious CondeNet today announces that Elizabeth Shepard has joined Epicurious as editor in chief. SMA Realtime Names Bissiccio SVP
After completing a one-year consulting tenure, Edvardo Bissiccio has been named Senior Vice President with SMA Realtime Inc. Working with CEO Michael J. McCloskey Pursuees New Passion
After nearly two years as Comet Systems’ Director of Corporate Business Development and the company's chief evangelist, Bill McCloskey has resigned from Comet in order to pursue my passion: building out the Rich Media SIG full time. Bill started the Rich Media SIG a little over a year ago as a way for a group of people passionate about rich media technologies to get together once a month to discuss the industry, have a little wine, and meet each other. As much as Bill loved working at Comet, he says there are times when one feels a calling. The Rich Media SIG, he says, is his calling. Internet Entrepreneur Goes AWOL
Pioneering Internet entrepreneur and spokesperson, Aliza P. Sherman, leaves Silicon Alley this week for a three-month "radical sabbatical," driving solo across the country in a classic RV. With her two chihuahuas in tow, her G3 PowerBook, cell phone, and cellular modem, she's a dial-up connection away from the Internet but far away from the daily ups and downs of the Internet industry. Sherman established the first woman-owned, full-service Internet company in January 1995, built the first three websites for women (Cybergrrl.com, Webgrrls.com, Femina.com) and started the first bilingual website for Latinas in business, the latter of which is currently on hiatus. Sherman will drive a 1977 Dodge Apache from New York City to Maine, Montana, Arizona, Florida and all points in between. She'll make stops during her trip to meet with local chapters of Webgrrls International, the global networking organization for women she founded in April 1995. In January, she will embark on a two month book tour to promote her second book, "Cybergrrl @ Work: Tips and Inspiration for the Professional You" (Penguin Putnam).

Stockback Enhances Executive Team

InterActive Agency Founder Sells Out
Alan Wallace, co-founder of InterActive Agency, Inc., has decided to sell his ownership stake and resign his position as CEO. His business partner, Tony Winders, and his investor will be purchasing my shares in iAgency. As co-founder and CEO of iAgency since its inception five years ago, Wallace says that his decision to leave hasn't been easy. But it's time for something new. He's contemplating a new startup -- a Web-based database driven marketing service called "listenermail." While developing the concept with potential partners and investors, he has also received some interesting offers. The James Group Recruits New eBusiness Director

Susanna Martin Joins ImageDirect

E*Trade president Levinson Takes Off
Big changes are afoot at E*Trade Group Inc. The online brokerage announced this week that President and Chief Operating officer Kathy Levinson will retire from the company to pursue philanthropic and community service interests. E*Trade marketing guru Jerry Gramaglia, who headed Spring's marketing efforts before joining E*Trade, will succeed her. That might be a good move for the company, since Gramaglia is credited with E*Trade's ability to generate account growth of 600% over the past 18 months.

NYC Digital Auteur Theresa Duncan Snags TV Deals
Downtown director Theresa Duncan's Valentine Media, a Mac-based production company has the distinction of being the first digital house to translate a web-based animated show into a substantial broadcast television series order. For the series "Closet Cases" Duncan animates women's personal stories that are based on an article of clothing that has special meaning to them. The series began airing in February on the Oxygen television network. The pilot episode features a woman who bought an elegant ball gown on sale but then realized she had nowhere to wear it -- so she frequented the local bar and pretended she had just come from an elegant soiree. Theresa began her digital career in 1993 as the writer and producer of "Chop Suey," an animated CD-ROM featuring narration by humorist David Sedaris and music by members of indie-rock bands Fugazi and Bikini Kill. In 1998, Ms. Duncan formed Valentine Media, where she directed and wrote the animated mock-documentary "The History of Glamour." The success of music-based "Glamour" helped Valentine snare a deal with music network VH1 for "Left of the Dial" an animated series based on people's favorite songs that Duncan will write and direct this summer.

Millard Leaves Prudential Amidst Acquisition
Charles Millard is leaving Prudential Securities following the company's recent acquisition by Volpe Brown and Whelan, a San Francisco-based technology-focused investment bank. Although Charles says the purchase bodes well for the newly formed Prudential Volpe Technology Group and for Prudential Securities itself, which just completed its best quarter ever, he and the company have agreed to part ways. The creation of the Prudential Volpe Technology Group is, after all, a departure from the original strategy he was hired to execute. Charles says that he's pleased that he was able to contribute to the strength of this team and have landed some mandates that will help Prudential have its best year ever this year. He leaves Prudential on very good terms with the individuals here and with the institution, and expects to be doing something internet-related again before too long.

Everett Named CEO at Rainbow-Primedia
Carolyn Everett is leaving the bikini behind, just in time for summer. The senior vice president and chief operating officer of Sunshine Media Corporation, publishers of the pop culture Internet site Bikini.com, has just been named chief executive officer of the joint new media venture announced by Cablevision's Rainbow Media Holdings, Inc. and PRIMEDIA's NEW YORK magazine on March 28, 2000. The new media partnership will combine the brands and content of NEW YORK magazine and Rainbow's MetroChannels to create the leading New York-focused Internet destination - a one-stop, interactive resource for the region. As CEO, Everett will recruit a staff of seasoned new media professionals to bring the product to market. Klein Joins Softbank
Karin Klein has joined Softbank, a venture capital firm widely known for its investments in the internet. As the Director of Corporate Development, she will be helping grow the portfolio companies, finding and evaluating new investment opportunities and working on corporate level projects. The CEO/Vice Chairman, to whom she reports, is based in Boston, where Klein will now make her home. But we'll still see plenty of her.
