Making the Rounds at The Loop

The room was packed and the nametags were swinging in time with the
frenzied motions of busy networkers. Startups.com was hosting its
networking event, The Loop, at Dylan Prime in Tribeca, where
notables like eMerge's Andrew Mathias, publicist Patty Garcia and
DesignerOffice.com's CEO David Lamendola came to meet and
greet. VentureSurf's northeast regional director Justin Model
introduced me to NAFTAB2B.com's chairman and co-founder Adrian
Chavira and Designer Office CEO David Lamendola. Relaxing on a sofa
were EarlyBird Capital's Steve Fu, Peter Kent and Nitika Nath.
ClickVu's co-founder Justin Green was there chatting, and Knowledge
Strategies's Eileen Shulock and CEO Cynthia Hollen told me about
their Omnitailing retailing. Startups.com-ers Wendy Weed, Justin
Segal and Barbara Close were all on hand to greet guests and help
make introductions. Musicphone.com's Carter Nichols and EventMe!'s
Deter Volkering chatted it up with Caroline Hyland and Mark
Policarpio. As I was on my way out, I heard a voice say "hey! we
went to High School together!" When I turned around I saw Chris
Zydb, co-founder LawyerAccess, Inc., and a classmate from our New
Hartford High School. We caught up briefly before I headed uptown
for an early night at home!
