Bits, Bytes and Water

The Downtown Alliance held its Bits, Bytes and Bar bash again, this time etching uptown a bit to the elegant Hudson River Club on Tuesday, June 20, 2000. Party planner and hostess with the mostess, Lisa Novitt captured the evening and sent in a report. Take it away, Lisa!

"It took place at the Hudson River Club, and Kenyon & Kenyon sponsored the event. Tuesday night's Bits, Bytes and Bar at the Hudson River Club was a huge success. Approximately 250 people attended, leaving plenty of room to move around, network and look at the breathtaking view. Since we had the room in the back, which can accommodate 250 people, we had to limit the number of guests. We learned that limiting the number also limited the people who just show up for "free booze." There was ample food (good food), and no lines for drinks. We had strong IT people there, including Murray Alter (PriceWaterHouseCoopers) and Jim Whitely (Chase), as well as ITD companies such as Agency.com, CheetahMail, Fanning and FireRed. A few non-ITD people made commute the Downtown, including Kevin Hyman (Razorfish); Jon Gilbert (Foodline) and Jeremy Drosin (24/7 Media). Rick Aldape (Doremus Advertising) was there. He said the hottest trend in advertising is locating DotCom clients. Kenyon and Kenyon told me that they were quite pleased with the event."
