My friend Kimberly and I were stunned to have missed the raffle, only an hour into Barbie's 40th Birthday Bash at the Polaroid Studios in Soho on Tuesday, March 9th. Yes, even Barbie turns 40. There were no Barbie's at this party, though. Maybe a few Ken's, and a few photographs of Miss Thang on the wall by David Levinthal, the photographer from the new book on her. The tightly packed studio smelled of potato chips and cake, and a few radishes. Certainly not the Barbie food I remember.
