Technology Careers Writer

Monster.com (www.monster.com) is looking for a writer for the Monster Technology Network (technology.monster.com). The writer should have some expertise in the area of technology careers and will be responsible for the following each month on a continual basis:
- write 4 pieces of content (2 feature articles, 1 book review, 1 quiz)
- host 4 one-hour chats (1 per wk.)
- manage message board (respond to several questions per wk.)
Previous online writing experience not required. Must have strong writing skills, be deadline-oriented, be available to discuss ideas, and work well with editors. Can work from home. Must have email and PC. Send resume and clips (essential) to jnastasi@monster.com

In the News Editor,
Job Responsibilities: Produce the In the News section. Stay on top of the news, popular culture. Identify books, music, etc. and build product collections based on timely topics. Write blurbs and other features in support of merchandising. Scour the media and build collections based on what is featured. Coordinate with subject area editors for specialized topics. Support special section development.

Job Qualifications: At least four years in an editorial role, with deadline-writing experience. Demonstrated news judgment. Ability to turn around lively, clear, tight copy quickly. Understanding of the key media. Some online experience. Ability to juggle multiple simultaneous priorities. Comfort level with basic production.

Associate Editor, barnesandnoble.com
Job Responsibilities:
Writing, researching, interviewing, gathering information from publishers. Heavy emphasis on the business and finance subject category, but will also have some other day-to-day support responsibilities. Basic production of top 20 lists, new releases, standing features. Anything and everything involved with putting the business and finance areas together.
Job Qualifications: At least two years working in an editorial role, with some deadline-writing experience. Demonstrated understanding of business, finance, career, small business issues. Crisp, vivid writing style. Some experience working online. Good organizational and Excel skills.
